March Madness

This is one of the most exciting times of the year for basketball fans, especially for those who follow college basketball! According to challengergrey.com an estimated 50 million people will participate in filling out a bracket and businesses stand to lose an estimated $1.2 billion for every unproductive work hour during the first week of the tournament! In saying this however, there is no reason that your activity time should decrease because of the amount of time you will be spending in front of your televisions watching the most exciting basketball games of the year. Make sure to plan out your day to get a minimum of 60 minutes of some type of activity (basketball, walking, jogging, etc.). Here at Dr. Patricia MD we believe that your screen time should match your activity time so that is something to keep in mind while you watch the games.

One possibility to increase your activity time during March Madness is to set up your own basketball tournament with friends in the neighborhood or your family! Challenge each other in a game of one on one, do a shooting contest, play a game of HORSE or practice  dribbling, shooting, passing and defensive skills. Have fun watching some great basketball but do not forget to take care of yourself as well!
