Have you been hearing all about the health benefits of avocados but don’t know how to incorporate them into your family’s diet? It’s a good idea to try adding avocados because they are a healthy fat that is good for your heart! Avocados also aid in lowering cholesterol.
- 2 avocados
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 medium sized tomato
- 1 lime (juiced)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Peel the avocados and mash them with a fork. Stir in the onion, garlic, tomato, and lime. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
Whole Wheat Tortilla Chips
- 8 whole wheat tortillas (8 inch)
- Olive oil spray (or any cooking spray)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut tortillas into 8 slices each. Spray a lined baking pan (add a cooling rack on top if desired) with olive oil. Add tortilla pieces to pan or cooling rack and spray with olive oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until tortillas are light-brown in color (be careful not to overcook).
