Many of us enjoy eating finger foods because they are easy to eat and don’t require the use of utensils. Sometimes, we tend to find ourselves eating finger foods that aren’t beneficial to our health, such as French fries, chips, and candy. A good way to satisfy our craving for finger foods but stay away from junk food is to replace them with fruits or vegetables.

greenbeansOne vegetable that you can get creative with is the green bean. Green beans are packed with fiber and vitamins such as A, C, K, B6, and folic acid. Consuming foods such as green beans can greatly benefit your health by decreasing your risk for cardiovascular disease, colon cancer, and diabetes. Green beans can also help boost your immune system, protect your vision, promote bone health, aid in digestion, and much more!

Looking for a way to add some flavor to your green beans? These garlic parmesan baked green beans are easy to make and are a tasty finger food for the whole family. Keep your body healthy by swapping out those French fries for these baked beans!

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh green beans
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  In a large bowl whisk the oil, garlic, garlic powder, and egg together.  Toss in the green beans and coat well.  Sprinkle the Parmesan on the green beans and toss evenly.  Place the green bean mixture on a greased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden.  To crisp, heat for a minute or two under broiler.
